मालवण येथील बॅ. नाथ पै सेवांगण येथे शब्दालय प्रकाशनतर्फे जयंत पवार लिखित ‘माझं घर’ आणि डॉ. मेघा केळूसकर लिखित ‘अधांतर अंधारात’ या पुस्तकांचा प्रकाशन सोहळा ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिक रंगनाथ पठारे यांच्या हस्ते संपन्न झाला. साहित्य, समाज आणि वर्तमानकाळ यांच्यातील नात्यावर विचारमंथन घडवून आणणारा हा सोहळा विशेष ठरला.
मालवण येथे शब्दालय प्रकाशनतर्फे ज्येष्ठ नाटककार जयंत पवार यांच्या ‘माझं घर’ या नाटकाच्या पुस्तकाचे आणि कवयित्री डॉ. मेघा केळूसकर यांच्या ‘अधांतर अंधारात’ या कवितासंग्रहाचे प्रकाशन ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिक रंगनाथ पठारे यांच्या हस्ते संपन्न झाले.
या प्रसंगी रंगनाथ पठारे यांनी लेखकाच्या सामाजिक आणि साहित्यिक भूमिकेबाबत महत्त्वपूर्ण विचार मांडले. “लेखकाने आपल्या काळाशी सतत संवाद साधला पाहिजे. समकालीन प्रश्नांविषयी कुतूहल आणि संवेदनशीलता नसल्यास लेखक म्हणून त्याचे अस्तित्व अपूर्ण राहते,” असे त्यांनी सांगितले. जयंत पवार आणि डॉ. मेघा केळूसकर यांच्या लेखनात काळाशी संवाद साधण्याचे समान वैशिष्ट्य दिसून येते, असेही त्यांनी नमूद केले.

कार्यक्रमात जयंत पवार यांच्या ‘माझं घर’ या नाटकातील एका प्रवेशाचे वाचनही करण्यात आले. पवार यांच्या नाटकातील सामाजिक वास्तव, स्त्रियांचे प्रश्न आणि बदलत्या काळाचे प्रतिबिंब याबाबत उपस्थितांनी विचार मांडले. तसेच डॉ. मेघा केळूसकर यांच्या कवितांमधील सामाजिक जाणिवेचाही गौरव करण्यात आला.
समकाळाच्या वास्तवाबरोबरच ह्या काळाचे भास-आभास, दुःस्वप्नं, विचारसंवेदना, भावना आणि गंड, लोकव्यवहार आणि जीवनशैलीला महेश केळुसकर यांच्या 'अधांतर अंधारात' या संग्रहातील कविता खेव देते. करोना काळातील यातील काही अनुभव तर कवीच्या आतापर्यंतच्या भाषाप्रयोगांना कसुटे लावणारे आहेत. आजच्या राजकीय-सामाजिक उच्छादाचे हे विरूपाकार, समकालीन सातत्याचे निरंतर सत्यशोधन करण्यासाठी पिच्छा पुरवतात.
... जयंत पवार या लेखकाच्या लेखनाचा विचार करताना सर्वसामान्य माणसाच्या पायाखालची जमीन आणि त्याच्या डोक्यावरचं छप्पर या बाबी त्याच्या लेखनाच्या गाभ्याशी असलेल्या दिसतात... ...स्थलांतराच्या नावाखाली विस्थापन लादलं जातं, विस्थापितांची मुळं पुन्हा कुठे रुजतच नाहीत, त्यांचं जगच हरवून जातं, ही बाब जयंत पवार हा लेखक सातत्याने अधोरेखित करत राहिला. मुळात हा त्याच्या चिंतनाचा विषय होता. गावपातळीवर तसेच जगातल्या विविध देशांमध्ये ही विस्थापनाची प्रक्रिया कशी सुरू आहे, याचा तो सातत्याने मागोवा घेत असे, अभ्यास करत असे. साहजिकच लग्न होताना आणि लग्न मोडताना बाईवर लादलं जाणारं विस्थापन हे वास्तवही लेखक म्हणून त्याला महत्त्वाचं वाटलं आणि तेच 'माझं घर' या नाटकातून समोर आलं... . 'माझं घर'मधल्या विभाचा संघर्ष वेगळा आहे. वरकरणी तो घरातल्या पुरुषसत्तेचा प्रतिनिधी असणाऱ्या नवऱ्याबरोबर आहे, पण प्रत्यक्षात शतकानुशतकांच्या प्रथांविरोधात, पुरुषाच्या हितसंबंधांनुसार बाईच्या पायाखालची जमीन काढून घेणाऱ्या पुरुषसत्ताक समाजरचनेच्या विरोधात आहे....
‘Majha Ghar’ and ‘Adhantar Andharat’ Launched by Shabdalaya Prakashan in Malvan
A joint book launch of ‘Majha Ghar’ by Jayant Pawar and ‘Adhantar Andharat’ by Dr. Megha Keluskar was organised by Shabdalaya Prakashan at Barr. Nath Pai Sevangan, Malvan. The books were formally released by senior Marathi writer Rangnath Pathare.
The literary gathering became an important platform for discussion on the relationship between literature, society and contemporary realities. Through the two books, the programme brought together themes such as social change, women’s experiences, displacement, patriarchy, political and social realities, and the responsibility of a writer to remain connected with the times.
Rangnath Pathare on the Social Responsibility of Writers
Speaking at the launch, Rangnath Pathare emphasised that a writer must remain in continuous dialogue with the period in which they live. He observed that without curiosity and sensitivity towards contemporary questions, a writer’s literary existence remains incomplete.
He also pointed out that both Jayant Pawar’s writing and the poetry associated with ‘Adhantar Andharat’ share this engagement with contemporary life and social reality.
Literary Discussion Around ‘Majha Ghar’
‘Majha Ghar’, written by veteran playwright Jayant Pawar, examines issues rooted in ordinary people’s lives, particularly the ideas of home, displacement, social inequality and patriarchy.
The discussion at the event highlighted Pawar’s sustained concern with people who lose their roots through different forms of displacement. His writing considers how migration and social change can separate individuals from their sense of home, identity and belonging.
In Majha Ghar, this question also enters the personal and gendered space of marriage. The struggle of the character Vibha is not presented merely as a conflict with her husband, but as a wider resistance against a patriarchal social structure that can deprive women of security, space and independence according to male interests and long-established social customs.
A passage from ‘Majha Ghar’ was also read during the programme, followed by discussion on the play’s social reality, women’s issues and its reflection of changing times.
‘Adhantar Andharat’ and the Experience of Contemporary Life
The poetry collection ‘Adhantar Andharat’ reflects the visible and invisible realities of contemporary life—its anxieties, nightmares, emotions, social behaviour and changing lifestyles.
The material particularly refers to experiences from the COVID period, describing them as experiences that tested and expanded the poet’s language. The poems also engage with the disturbing forms of today’s political and social reality and continue a search for truth within contemporary life.
The social consciousness present in the collection was appreciated during the book launch, making the event relevant not only as a publication ceremony but also as a discussion on contemporary Marathi poetry and socially engaged literature.
