‘संत जनाबाई : शोध आणि तत्त्वचिंतन’ ग्रंथाचा पुण्यात प्रकाशन सोहळा
प्रा. डॉ. धनंजय होनमाने लिखित आणि शब्दालय प्रकाशन, श्रीरामपूर प्रकाशित ‘संत जनाबाई : शोध आणि तत्त्वचिंतन’ या संशोधनपर ग्रंथाचा प्रकाशन सोहळा मंगळवार, १२ मे २०२६ रोजी पुण्यातील लोकशाहीर अण्णाभाऊ साठे सभागृह, पद्मावती नगर येथे संपन्न झाला. संत जनाबाईंचे जीवन, अभंग, स्त्री-अस्तित्व, भक्तीपरंपरा, वारकरी संप्रदाय आणि त्यांच्या सामाजिक-विचारविश्वाचा अभ्यास करणारा हा ग्रंथ मराठी संत साहित्याच्या संशोधनात महत्त्वपूर्ण भर घालणारा आहे.
कार्यक्रमाच्या अध्यक्षस्थानी ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिक व विचारवंत रंगनाथ पठारे होते. माजी अखिल भारतीय मराठी साहित्य संमेलनाध्यक्ष श्रीपाल सबनीस यांच्यासह प्रा. डॉ. विश्वनाथ शिंदे, ह.भ.प. डॉ. सुहास फडतरे, प्रा. डॉ. आशालता कांबळे आणि वारकरी व साहित्य क्षेत्रातील अनेक मान्यवर उपस्थित होते.
यावेळी संत जनाबाईंचे लोकप्रबोधनातील योगदान, त्यांचा स्त्रीवादी आत्मभानाचा स्वर, संत नामदेवांशी असलेले आध्यात्मिक-सांस्कृतिक नाते आणि वारकरी परंपरेतील त्यांचे स्थान यावर विचारमंथन झाले. जनाबाईंच्या अभंगांचा संशोधनात्मक आणि तत्त्वचिंतनात्मक अभ्यास वाचकांसमोर आणण्याचा प्रा. डॉ. धनंजय होनमाने यांचाप्रयत्न या ग्रंथातून अधोरेखित होतो.

Shabdalaya Prakashan Launches Dr. Dhananjay Honmane’s Research Book on Sant Janabai in Pune
A significant Marathi literary and Warkari literature event in Pune marked the publication of ‘Sant Janabai: Shodh Ani Tattvachintan’, written by Prof. Dr. Dhananjay Honmane and published by Shabdalaya Prakashan.
The programme was held on Tuesday, 12 May 2026 at 3:00 PM at Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Sabhagruh, Padmavati Nagar, Pune. The gathering featured leading writers, scholars, Warkari representatives and public personalities.
The book presents a research-oriented study of Sant Janabai, one of the important women voices in Maharashtra’s Bhakti movement. It examines her abhang literature, devotion, spiritual philosophy, social identity, self-expression and contribution to the Warkari tradition. The book also considers Janabai’s relationship with the Sant Namdev tradition and the wider cultural significance of her poetry.
At the launch, Rangnath Pathare emphasised the important role played by saints in spreading humanity and public awareness, while Shripal Sabnis highlighted Sant Janabai’s contribution to women’s consciousness and described her as a significant early voice of womanhood in Marathi saint literature.
The event positioned ‘Sant Janabai: Shodh Ani Tattvachintan’ as an important work for readers, researchers and students interested in Sant Janabai, Marathi Bhakti literature, Warkari culture, women in Marathi literature and religious-philosophical studies.
‘Sant Janabai: Shodh Ani Tattvachintan’ Book Launch in Pune Highlights Her Contribution to Warkari Literature and Women’s Voice
‘Sant Janabai: Shodh Ani Tattvachintan’, a research-based Marathi book written by Prof. Dr. Dhananjay Honmane and published by Shabdalaya Prakashan, Shrirampur, was launched at a special literary programme in Pune on 12 May 2026.
The event, held at Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Sabhagruh, Padmavati Nagar, Pune, brought together distinguished personalities from Marathi literature, the Warkari tradition and public life. Senior writer and thinker Rangnath Pathare presided over the programme, while former Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan president Shripal Sabnis was among the prominent literary figures present.
The book explores Sant Janabai’s life, abhangs, spiritual philosophy, social consciousness and place in the Marathi Bhakti and Warkari tradition. Discussions at the launch particularly highlighted Janabai’s contribution to public enlightenment and her strong expression of women’s identity and self-respect through devotional literature.
Through research into Sant Janabai’s abhangs and philosophical thought, Dr. Dhananjay Honmane’s book seeks to present her as an independent and influential voice in Marathi saint literature, beyond conventional descriptions of her life.
