'तुंबारा’ पुस्तक आणि सयाजी शिंदे यांच्या आवाजातील ध्वनिफितीचा प्रकाशन सोहळा 2013 मध्ये मुंबईतील वांद्रे येथील MIG Club सभागृहात झाला. पुस्तकाचे प्रकाशन ज्येष्ठ समीक्षक रंगनाथ पठारे यांच्या हस्ते, तर ध्वनिफितीचे प्रकाशन अभिनेते सुबोध भावे यांच्या हस्ते झाले. ज्येष्ठ लेखिका शांता गोखले कार्यक्रमाच्या अध्यक्षस्थानी होत्या आणि अभिनेते मकरंद अनासपुरे यांनी सूत्रसंचालन केले. शब्दालय प्रकाशनाच्या सुमती लांडे आणि अलका शिंदे या कार्यक्रमाच्या निमंत्रक होत्या. वास्तव जीवनातील अनुभवांना कलात्मक रूप देणाऱ्या या लेखनाने सयाजी शिंदे यांच्या अभिनयापलीकडील लेखकमनाची वेगळी ओळख वाचकांसमोर आणली.

“Tumbara”, written by acclaimed actor Sayaji Shinde and published by Shabdalaya Prakashan, is an experimental Marathi literary work that moves beyond conventional definitions of poetry and drama. Written in a free-flowing, deeply personal style, the book reflects Shinde’s sensitivity, emotional intensity and philosophical observations about life, society, nature and human behaviour. Rather than functioning as a conventional poetry collection or play, Tumbara reads like an extended inner dialogue in which personal experiences and social realities come together naturally. The first edition was published in 2013, with ISBN 9789380617534, and the book runs to 96 pages.
The book and its audio version in Sayaji Shinde’s own voice were launched at the MIG Club auditorium in Bandra, Mumbai, in 2013. Senior critic Ranganath Pathare released the book, while actor Subodh Bhave released the audio recording. Renowned writer Shanta Gokhale presided over the programme, and actor Makarand Anaspure hosted the event. The publication brought readers closer to a lesser-known creative side of Sayaji Shinde, revealing the writer and thinker behind the celebrated actor.
