घुंगरकाठी कथासंग्रहांचा प्रकाशन सोहळा संपन्न......
शब्दालय प्रकाशन प्रकाशित आणि डॉ. (नरु)भाऊ कदम लिखित, घुंगरकाठी या कथासंग्रहाचा प्रकाशन सोहळा; रविवार दिनांक ३० ऑगस्ट २०२६ रोजी; आगरी कोळी संस्कृती भवन, नेरूळ येथे पार पडला. या कार्यक्रमाचे प्रमुख पाहुणे सुप्रसिद्ध लेखिका व सौन्दर्य तज्ञ डॉ. स्मिता दातार या होत्या. तर कार्यक्रमाचे अध्यक्षस्थान मुंबई विद्यापीठाचे दुरस्थ व ऑनलाईन शिक्षण पद्धतीचे अधिक्षक डॉ. शिवाजी सरगर यांनी भुषविले. याप्रसंगी विशेष अतिथी म्हणून महाराष्ट्र राज्य कोविड टास्क फोर्स प्रमुख डॉ. संजय ओक यांची उपस्थिती विशेष उल्लेखनिय होती.
कोरोनासह, ग्रामीण व शहरी जीवनातील चौदा कथांच्या या संग्रहाचे सर्व मान्यवरांनी भरभरून कौतुक केले. मुंबई सारख्या शहरात बालपण व्यतीत केलेल्या लेखकाने लिहिलेल्या या ग्रामीण कथांचे वैशिष्ठ्य सांगताना प्रमुख पाहुण्या डॉ. स्मिता ताईंनी, शहरात राहूनही काळ्या मातीशी नाळ जोडलेला लेखक असा लेखकाचा गौरव केला. इंग्रजी तसेच मराठी साहित्याचे अभ्यासक असलेल्या डॉ. शिवाजी सरगर यांनी अध्यक्षीय भाषणात या संग्रहातील प्रत्येक कथेवर एक अखंड कादंबरी निर्माण होऊ शकेल इतकी रंजकता त्यात आहे असे उद्गार काढले. नेहमीच आपल्या खुसखुशीत शैलीत कोपरखळ्या मारत विषय उलगडून दाखवणाऱ्या डॉ. संजय ओक सरांनी या कथासंग्रहातील ग्रामीण भाषेचे सौन्दर्य वर्णन करत असताना या संग्रहातून त्यांच्या ज्ञानात भर घालणारे अनेक नवीन ग्रामीण शब्दांची भर त्यांच्या शब्दसंग्राहात पडली असे आवर्जून त्यांनी सांगितले. त्यांच्या एका रुग्णाने प्रेमाने दिलेली आणि घुंगरकाठी या शीर्षकाला साजणारी त्या रुग्णाची कथा सांगताना त्याने दिलेली ती घुंगरकाठी जेव्हा त्यांनी आपल्या झोळीतून काढून प्रेक्षकांना दाखवली तेव्हा संपूर्ण प्रेक्षागृहात टाळ्यांचा कडकडाट झाला.
तीनही वक्त्यांनी उपस्थित प्रेक्षकांना आवर्जून हा कथासंग्रह घेण्याचे आवाहन केले. या संग्रहाच्या प्रकाशनाच्या निमित्ताने आरोग्ययात्री या सामाजिक क्षेत्रात काम करणाऱ्या वैद्यकीय व्यवसाय करणाऱ्या वैद्यांच्या आगळ्यावेगळ्या वाद्यवृंदाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. या प्रसंगी त्यांनी गुंजन गौळणींचे हा संत साहित्यातील गौळणींचा बहारदार कार्यक्रम सादर केला. संत एकनाथ, नामदेव, ज्ञानेश्वर, जनाबाई, भानुदास महाराज, विष्णूदास नामा यांच्या बहारदार रचना व्यासपिठावरून प्रेक्षकांना मंत्रमुग्ध करुन गेल्या.
प्रकाशन सोहळ्याचे प्रायोजक अभिनव टूर, खारघर यांनी सर्व उपस्थितांचे आभार मानले.
‘Ghungarkathi’ by Dr. (Naru) Bhau Kadam Launched at Agri Koli Sanskruti Bhavan, Nerul
The book launch of ‘Ghungarkathi’, a Marathi short-story collection written by Dr. (Naru) Bhau Kadam and published by Shabdalaya Prakashan, was held on Sunday, 30 August 2026, at Agri Koli Sanskruti Bhavan, Nerul.
The literary event brought together distinguished personalities from literature, education and medicine. Renowned writer and beauty expert Dr. Smita Datar attended as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Shivaji Sargar, associated with the Distance and Online Education system of the University of Mumbai, presided over the programme. Dr. Sanjay Oak, Head of the Maharashtra State COVID Task Force, was present as the Special Guest.
A Marathi Short-Story Collection Rooted in Rural and Urban Life
‘Ghungarkathi’ contains fourteen stories exploring experiences from rural and urban life, including stories connected with the COVID period. The collection received warm appreciation from the dignitaries for its storytelling, rural sensibility, language and close connection with the lives of ordinary people.
Speaking about Dr. (Naru) Bhau Kadam’s Ghungarkathi, Dr. Smita Datar particularly appreciated the author’s ability to write authentically about rural life despite having spent his childhood in a city like Mumbai. She described him as a writer who, even while living in the city, has remained deeply connected to the soil and cultural roots of rural Maharashtra.
In his presidential address, Dr. Shivaji Sargar, a scholar of both Marathi and English literature, praised the depth and narrative potential of the stories. He observed that the material and richness within each story were strong enough to inspire a full-length novel.
Dr. Sanjay Oak Praises the Rural Language of ‘Ghungarkathi’
Special guest Dr. Sanjay Oak highlighted the distinctive beauty of the rural Marathi language used in Ghungarkathi. He noted that the book introduced him to several rural words and expressions that enriched his own vocabulary.
One of the memorable moments of the Ghungarkathi book launch in Nerul came when Dr. Oak shared the story of a patient who had affectionately gifted him an actual ghungarkathi, an object closely connected with the title of the book. When he took the ghungarkathi out of his bag and showed it to the audience, the auditorium responded with enthusiastic applause.
All three speakers encouraged the audience and Marathi literature lovers to read and support the short-story collection.
‘Gunjan Gaulaninche’ Adds a Musical Dimension to the Book Launch
The Ghungarkathi publication ceremony was accompanied by a special cultural programme presented by Arogyayatri, a group of medical professionals engaged in social work.
As part of the programme, they presented ‘Gunjan Gaulaninche’, a musical performance inspired by the gaulani tradition in Marathi saint literature. Compositions associated with Sant Eknath, Sant Namdev, Sant Dnyaneshwar, Sant Janabai, Bhanudas Maharaj and Vishnudas Nama were performed, creating a lively and devotional atmosphere for the audience.
The programme added a distinctive cultural dimension to the Shabdalaya Prakashan book launch, bringing Marathi literature and saint poetry together on the same platform.
The event was supported by Abhinav Tour, Kharghar, the sponsor of the publication ceremony, which also expressed gratitude to all those present.
