मराठी प्रकाशन क्षेत्रातील दीर्घकालीन आणि उल्लेखनीय योगदानाबद्दल शब्दालय प्रकाशन, श्रीरामपूरच्या संचालिका सुमतीताई लांडे यांना महाराष्ट्र शासनाचा 2020 चा प्रतिष्ठेचा श्री. पु. भागवत पुरस्कार जाहीर झाला.
Sumatitai Lande, director of Shabdalaya Prakashan, Shrirampur, received the Government of Maharashtra’s prestigious Shri Pu. Bhagwat Award for 2020 for her distinguished contribution to Marathi publishing.
शब्दालय प्रकाशन, श्रीरामपूरच्या संचालिका ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिक सुमतीताई लांडे यांना महाराष्ट्र शासनाचा प्रतिष्ठेचा श्री. पु. भागवत पुरस्कार 2020 जाहीर झाला. मराठी साहित्य आणि प्रकाशन व्यवसायात दीर्घकाळ केलेल्या उल्लेखनीय कार्यासाठी त्यांची या पुरस्कारासाठी निवड करण्यात आली.
या पुरस्काराचे स्वरूप ₹3 लाख रोख, मानचिन्ह आणि सन्मानपत्र असे होते. महाराष्ट्र शासनाच्यावतीने मराठी प्रकाशन क्षेत्रात लक्षवेधी कार्य करणाऱ्या प्रकाशकाला श्री. पु. भागवत यांच्या नावाने हा सन्मान दिला जातो.
मराठी भाषा गौरव दिनानिमित्त 27 फेब्रुवारी रोजी आयोजित कार्यक्रमात तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे यांच्या हस्ते हा पुरस्कार प्रदान करण्यात आला. या गौरवामुळे शब्दालय प्रकाशनच्या साहित्यिक, सांस्कृतिक आणि प्रकाशन क्षेत्रातील योगदानाला राज्यस्तरीय मान्यता मिळाली.
पुरस्कार जाहीर झाल्यानंतर श्रीरामपूर प्रेस क्लबतर्फे सुमतीताई लांडे यांचा सत्कार करण्यात आला. अशोक तुपे, बाळासाहेब भांड, बाळासाहेब आघे, प्रकाश कुलथे, अनिल पांडे, राजेंद्र बोरसे, नवनाथ कुलाल आणि गौरव साळुंके यांच्यासह विविध मान्यवर या प्रसंगी उपस्थित होते.
सुमतीताई लांडे यांनी हा पुरस्कार शब्दालय प्रकाशनसोबतच महाराष्ट्रातील सर्व साहित्यिक आणि प्रकाशन संस्थांना समर्पित केला. शब्दालय प्रकाशनने ग्रामीण भागातून मराठीतील अनेक नामवंत साहित्यिकांचे दर्जेदार साहित्य प्रकाशित करून महाराष्ट्राच्या वाचनसंस्कृतीत महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान दिले आहे.
Veteran literary figure and Shabdalaya Prakashan director Sumatitai Lande was selected for the Shri Pu. Bhagwat Award 2020, presented by the Government of Maharashtra. The honour recognised her distinguished and long-standing contribution to Marathi literature and the publishing sector.
Presented through the Marathi Language Department of the Government of Maharashtra, the award carries a cash prize of ₹3 lakh, a citation and a commemorative memento. It honours publishers who have made a substantial contribution to Marathi publishing and literary culture.
The award was presented by then Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray during a Marathi Language Pride Day programme held on 27 February. The state-level recognition marked an important milestone for Sumatitai Lande and Shabdalaya Prakashan.
Following the announcement, the Shrirampur Press Club felicitated Sumatitai Lande for her achievement. Several local writers, publishers and cultural representatives attended the felicitation.
While accepting the honour, Sumatitai Lande dedicated the award to literary and publishing organisations across Maharashtra. Through Shabdalaya Prakashan, she has helped publish the works of several notable
Marathi writers and strengthened access to quality Marathi literature from the rural region of Shrirampur.
The Shri Pu. Bhagwat Award recognises not only Sumatitai Lande’s individual journey but also Shabdalaya Prakashan’s sustained contribution to Marathi books, authors, publishing and Maharashtra’s reading culture.
