शब्दालयच्या २०२३ दिवाळी अंकातील उदय कुलकर्णी अनुवादित ‘सुवर्ण कमळ’ या साहित्यकृतीला छंदश्री आंतरराष्ट्रीय दिवाळी अंक स्पर्धेत उत्कृष्ट अनुवाद विभागाचा द्वितीय पुरस्कार प्राप्त झाला. पुण्यात झालेल्या पुरस्कार वितरण सोहळ्यात मिळालेला हा सन्मान शब्दालय परिवारासाठी अभिमानाचा क्षण ठरला.
‘Suvarna Kamal’, translated by Uday Kulkarni and published in Shabdalay’s 2023 Diwali issue, received the Second Prize for Excellence in Translation at the Chhandashree International Diwali Magazine Competition. The honour marks a proud literary achievement for the entire Shabdalay family.
शब्दालय प्रकाशनाच्या साहित्यिक वाटचालीत आणखी एका मानाच्या यशाची नोंद झाली. शब्दालयच्या २०२३ दिवाळी अंकातील ‘सुवर्ण कमळ’ या अनुवादित साहित्यकृतीला छंदश्री आंतरराष्ट्रीय दिवाळी अंक स्पर्धेत उत्कृष्ट अनुवाद — द्वितीय पुरस्कार प्रदान करण्यात आला. या साहित्यकृतीचा अनुवाद उदय कुलकर्णी यांनी केला आहे.
दिनमार्क पब्लिकेशन्सतर्फे आयोजित पुरस्कार वितरण सोहळा शुक्रवार, १४ जून २०२४ रोजी पुण्यातील टिळक रोडवरील न्यू इंग्लिश स्कूलच्या गणेश हॉलमध्ये पार पडला. कार्यक्रमाचे प्रमुख पाहुणे कवी, वक्ते, ललितलेखक आणि संपादक अरुण म्हात्रे होते; संमेलनाध्यक्ष म्हणून ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिक भारत सासणे उपस्थित होते. कार्यक्रमाला साहित्य आणि प्रकाशन क्षेत्रातील अनेक मान्यवर उपस्थित होते.
मराठी दिवाळी अंक परंपरेत दर्जेदार अनुवादित साहित्याला महत्त्वाचे स्थान आहे. ‘सुवर्ण कमळ’ला मिळालेल्या या पुरस्कारामुळे उदय कुलकर्णी यांच्या अनुवादकौशल्याची तसेच नव्या आशयाला वाचकांपर्यंत पोहोचवण्याच्या शब्दालयच्या संपादकीय भूमिकेची दखल घेण्यात आली. अनुवाद साहित्य, मराठी दिवाळी अंक आणि समकालीन साहित्यिक अभिव्यक्ती यांना प्रोत्साहन देणारा हा सन्मान शब्दालय परिवारासाठी गौरवास्पद आहे.
Shabdalay Prakashan has added another distinguished recognition to its literary journey. ‘Suvarna Kamal’, a translated work featured in the Shabdalay Diwali Issue 2023, received the Second Prize for Excellence in Translation at the Chhandashree International Diwali Magazine Competition. The work was translated by Uday Kulkarni.
The award ceremony, organised by Dinmark Publications, was held on Friday, 14 June 2024 at Ganesh Hall, New English School, Tilak Road, Pune. Poet, speaker, essayist and editor Arun Mhatre attended as the chief guest, while noted Marathi writer Bharat Sasane presided over the programme. Several representatives from Marathi literature and publishing were present for the ceremony.
Translation has an important place in Maharashtra’s Diwali magazine tradition because it introduces readers to stories, ideas and literary voices across languages. This award recognises Uday Kulkarni’s translation of ‘Suvarna Kamal’ and Shabdalay’s editorial commitment to publishing meaningful translated literature. It is a proud milestone for Shabdalay Prakashan, Marathi translation and the wider Diwali issue tradition.
